Adult mental health care
Adult Psychiatry in Miami
Evidence-based psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults in Miami and throughout Florida with Dr. Brian Villa, MD.
Mental health symptoms can affect sleep, relationships, work, health, and everyday decision-making. Adult psychiatric care at Renova Health begins with understanding the individual rather than assuming that one diagnosis or treatment fits everyone.
Reasons adults seek psychiatric care
Adults may request help with anxiety, depression, mood instability, attention concerns, trauma-related symptoms, obsessive thoughts or compulsions, grief, sleep disruption, substance-related concerns, relationship stress, or a change in functioning. Similar symptoms can arise from different psychiatric, medical, medication-related, or situational causes.
An individualized evaluation
The evaluation may review:
- Current symptoms, timing, triggers, and functional impact
- Medical and psychiatric history and previous treatment response
- Medications, supplements, sleep, and substance use
- Work, relationships, caregiving, culture, and life transitions
- Safety, supports, strengths, and treatment goals
- Whether coordination, records, laboratory information, or another specialist may be useful
Treatment options
Recommendations depend on the evaluation and may include education, talk therapy, psychiatric medication management, coordination with another treating clinician, TMS evaluation for eligible adults with depression, or referral when a specialized therapy or higher level of care is needed.
Miami office and statewide telehealth
Adults may request in-office appointments in Miami or secure telehealth appointments while physically located in Florida. The visit format and availability depend on clinical appropriateness and applicable requirements.
