What to expect before your first psychiatric visit

A clear, respectful process for scheduling, preparing for your evaluation, and understanding the next steps in your care.

Your first visit

A thoughtful start, centered on your concerns

A psychiatric evaluation is a clinical conversation designed to understand current concerns, health and treatment history, daily functioning, safety, goals, and the context around your symptoms.

Recommendations are individualized and may include education, follow-up assessment, medication options, psychotherapy, coordination with another clinician, or a combination of approaches when appropriate.
