Renova Health offers evaluation and monitored Spravato (esketamine) treatment for eligible adults with depression. Candidacy is determined through a comprehensive psychiatric and medical safety review; treatment is provided only within applicable FDA labeling and Spravato REMS requirements.
What Spravato is
Spravato is the brand name for esketamine nasal spray, a prescription medicine administered under the direct supervision of a healthcare professional. Current FDA labeling includes treatment-resistant depression in adults, either by itself or with an oral antidepressant. It also includes depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder and acute suicidal ideation or behavior when used with an oral antidepressant.
For the acute-suicidality indication, the FDA label states that effectiveness in preventing suicide or reducing suicidal thoughts or behavior has not been demonstrated. Spravato does not replace hospitalization when hospitalization is clinically warranted.
Who may be considered for treatment
A diagnosis alone does not establish eligibility. The evaluation reviews the current depressive episode, symptom severity, prior medication dose and duration, psychotherapy and other treatments, reasons treatment was stopped, other psychiatric conditions, substance-use history, blood pressure and cardiovascular history, neurological history, pregnancy considerations when relevant, current medications, and immediate safety needs.
Records from previous prescribers, pharmacies, therapists, or hospitals may be needed to document an adequate treatment history and support clinical or insurance review.
Important safety and monitoring requirements
The FDA boxed warning includes sedation, dissociation, respiratory depression, abuse and misuse, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors in adolescents and young adults taking antidepressants. Spravato is not approved for pediatric patients.

What a treatment visit involves
The medication is self-administered under clinical supervision using a nasal-spray device. The clinical team monitors how the patient is feeling, blood pressure, alertness, breathing, dissociative symptoms, and other safety concerns. A patient is discharged only after the required observation and clinical assessment.
The treatment schedule and whether care continues depend on the indication, response, tolerability, and individualized plan. The clinician reviews both symptom change and functioning rather than assuming that one early response determines the long-term plan.
Spravato, TMS, medication, and psychotherapy
These options work differently and are not interchangeable. Spravato involves medication administered during monitored visits. TMS therapy uses magnetic stimulation and does not involve systemic medication or sedation. Standard medication management and psychotherapy may remain appropriate before, during, or after either treatment. The best next step depends on diagnosis, treatment history, safety, patient preference, access, and insurance requirements.
Insurance and scheduling
Renova Health accepts many major Florida insurance plans. Coverage and prior-authorization criteria vary, and authorization is not a guarantee of payment. Patients may request an evaluation directly without a referral from Renova Health, although an insurance plan may impose its own referral or authorization rules.

Is Spravato the same as IV ketamine?
No. Spravato is esketamine nasal spray with specific FDA-approved indications, labeling, administration requirements, and a REMS program. IV ketamine is a different formulation and route of administration.
Can I take Spravato at home?
No. It is administered under supervision in a certified healthcare setting with required post-dose monitoring.
Will I be able to drive after treatment?
