Psychiatric evaluation and treatment
Mental Health Conditions Treated
Renova Health evaluates and treats a broad range of psychiatric symptoms and conditions for patients age 5 and older. Because symptoms can overlap, treatment begins with an individualized assessment rather than an assumption based on one symptom or online screening result.
Common reasons patients seek care
Anxiety and fear
Generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, and persistent worry can affect sleep, school, work, relationships, and physical comfort.
Anxiety treatmentDepression and mood changes
Low mood, loss of interest, irritability, hopelessness, low energy, and changes in sleep or appetite deserve careful assessment, including screening for bipolar-spectrum symptoms and safety concerns.
Depression care Bipolar disorder careAttention and executive functioning
Difficulty focusing, organizing, starting tasks, managing time, or controlling impulses can reflect ADHD, but may also relate to anxiety, depression, sleep, learning, medical, or substance-related factors.
ADHD evaluation and treatmentOCD and intrusive thoughts
Obsessions, compulsions, avoidance, reassurance seeking, and distressing intrusive thoughts require distinction from ordinary worry, perfectionism, trauma symptoms, psychosis, and other conditions.
OCD treatmentTrauma-related symptoms
Nightmares, avoidance, hypervigilance, dissociation, emotional numbness, and changes in mood or trust may occur after trauma, while similar symptoms can also have other causes.
PTSD evaluation and treatmentSubstance use and related concerns
Alcohol, cannabis, stimulants, sedatives, opioids, and other substances can affect mood, anxiety, sleep, attention, psychosis risk, medication safety, and daily functioning.
Substance-use supportOther concerns evaluated in psychiatric care
Patients also seek help for grief, sleep problems, relationship stress, self-esteem and identity concerns, emotional dysregulation, burnout, psychotic symptoms, postpartum mood and anxiety symptoms, eating and body-image concerns, and changes associated with medical illness or aging. A listed topic does not guarantee that outpatient care is the right setting; some symptoms require urgent care, medical evaluation, specialized psychotherapy, substance-use treatment, or a higher level of support.
How a diagnosis is clarified
Dr. Brian Villa MD reviews timing, severity, developmental history, functional impact, medical conditions, medications, substances, family history, prior treatment, and safety. When appropriate and authorized, information from family members, therapists, schools, primary-care clinicians, or previous records may help establish a clearer longitudinal picture.
Recommendations may include education, psychotherapy, medication discussion, TMS or Spravato evaluation for eligible adults, laboratory or medical follow-up, coordination with another clinician, or referral to more specialized care.
Appointments, language, and insurance
Renova Health is accepting new patients for office visits in Miami and telehealth for eligible patients located in Florida. Care is available in English and Spanish. Many major Florida insurance plans are accepted, subject to benefit verification and plan-specific requirements.
